2. The reason of testing the stator at vacuum environment
2.1 Coils are easy to discharge in a vacuum environment, which can better test the damage of coil enameled wire. The "vacuum" here is not an absolute vacuum, but less air environment, since the coils will not discharge under absolute vacuum state. Directly exposed stator in the air is not the ideal environment for the coil to discharge, so there will be some small damages cannot be tested.
2.2 The movement of free electrons will generate static electricity, in order to generate a large amount of static electricity, a lot of free electrons need to move, which can be achieved by increasing the friction area and friction speed. And the atoms in the object move easily at higher temperature. For example: Clothes are easier to be dried at high temperature state. The same can be said for free electrons, which can easily move at high temperatures and carry positive and negative charges. Similarly, the lower the barometric pressure, the less bound the electron is subjected to, and the free electrons are easier to get out of their bondage and "muting" to one another. Therefore, in some electrical experiments, high temperature, low humidity and low pressure make the experiment succeed easier.
2.3 Watson concluded in electrical experiments that a conductor can accumulate charges because of the presence of the atmosphere. The atmosphere become conductive material and produce discharge because of ionization, the more thin the atmosphere is, the more intense discharge will be caused.
2.4 The idea about testing surge under vacuum environment was put forwarded and has been conducted a large number of experimental verification on many developed countries in the past. This technology was first applied in the compressor motor industry. In recent years, it has also been widely used in ordinary stator testing industry, which improves the stator testing of this industry in a large extent.
