4. Judge standard
The blue curve is the standard surge graph while the red one is the actual tested graph.
4.1 If other conditions are equal and the test graph oscillation frequency is lower than that of the standard graph, it can be judged that the tested winding inductance value is larger and the number of turns of the winding increased.
4.2 If other conditions are equal and the test graph oscillation frequency is higher than that of the standard graph, it can be judged that the tested winding inductance value is smaller. It turns out that the number of turns of the winding reduced or partial short circuit occurred.
4.3 If other conditions are equal and the first half part of the tested graph is consistent while the latter part is short circuit, it can determine that tested winding cannot vibrate with the attenuation of electric energy oscillation. The following circumstances may occur: The winding contact part is of insufficient joint, and the creepage distance of the insufficient joint gap is not enough under high voltage impulse, so as to form a discharge path. After the voltage step down, the loop will become open circuit and the oscillation stops.
4.4 If other conditions are equal and the test graph is a central line, it can be determined that the tested winding is in short circuit status.
