1. The significance of testing stator under vacuum
Coils are easy to discharge in a vacuum environment, which can better test the damage of coil enameled wire. The "vacuum" here is not an absolute vacuum, but less air environment, since the coils will not discharge under absolute vacuum state. Directly exposed stator in the air is not the ideal environment for the coil to discharge, so there will be some small damages cannot be tested.
2. The discharge principle of stator winding
The stator winding is easy to discharge under comparatively vacuum environment. The movement of free electrons will generate static electricity, in order to generate a large amount of static electricity, a lot of free electrons need to move, which can be achieved by increasing the friction area and friction speed. And the atoms in the object move easily at higher temperature. For example: Clothes are easier to be dried at high temperature state. The same can be said for free electrons, which can easily move at high temperatures and carry positive and negative charges. Similarly, the lower the barometric pressure, the less bound the electron is subjected to, and the free electrons are easier to get out of their bondage and "muting" to one another. Therefore, in some electrical experiments, high temperature, low humidity and low pressure make the experiment succeed easier.
